2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Lewis C. Schacht of Marengo, who passed | ||||||
4 | away on June 30, 2015; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Lewis Schacht was born in Woodstock on June 2, | ||||||
6 | 1927 to Lewis A. and Elizabeth (nee Moritz) Schacht; he married | ||||||
7 | Myrna Laechelt on January 28, 1950 in Marengo and served in the | ||||||
8 | United States Army from 1952 to 1954; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Lewis Schacht served as a Marengo police officer | ||||||
10 | for a couple of years; he retired from Marengo Steel after 42 | ||||||
11 | years of service; and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Lewis Schacht was a Lifetime member of the Moose | ||||||
13 | Lodge; he was a master at practical jokes and a member of the | ||||||
14 | early breakfast club at Dino's in Marengo; and
| ||||||
15 | WHEREAS, Lewis Schacht was preceded in death by his | ||||||
16 | parents; his wife, Myrna Schacht; and his brother, Russell | ||||||
17 | Schacht; and
| ||||||
18 | WHEREAS, Lewis Schacht is survived by his daughters, Cindy | ||||||
19 | Shadle and Sharon Moloney; his grandchildren, Liz (Mike) Vinik, | ||||||
20 | Katharine (Ryan Gails) Shadle, Joseph (Luciana Beach) Shadle, |

1 | and Emmett Moloney; his siblings, Carroll Schacht and Elizabeth | ||||||
2 | (Cliff) Mueller; his sister-in-law, Karin Schacht; and his | ||||||
3 | brother-in-law, LeRoy Laechelt; therefore, be it

4 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | ||||||
5 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
6 | Lewis C. Schacht, and extend our sincere condolences to her | ||||||
7 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | ||||||
8 | further

9 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
10 | presented to the family of Lewis Schacht as an expression of | ||||||
11 | our deepest sympathy.
