| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
| 3 | learn of the death of Anton Scharko of Woodstock, who passed | ||||||
| 4 | away on December 21, 2013; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Anton Scharko was born on August 8, 1919 in | ||||||
| 6 | Perekale, Ukraine to Adam and Mary (nee Babiejczyk) Scharko; he | ||||||
| 7 | married Mary Tatzer in Leutschach, Austria in February of 1947; | ||||||
| 8 | they settled in Woodstock in 1953; and
| ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, Anton Scharko worked for Woodstock Auto-Lite from | ||||||
| 10 | 1953 until his retirement in 1984; and
| ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, Anton Scharko was a longtime member of St. Mary | ||||||
| 12 | Catholic Church in Woodstock; he enjoyed maintaining his | ||||||
| 13 | vegetable garden, collecting and restoring antiques, and | ||||||
| 14 | entertaining visitors to his home; and
| ||||||
| 15 | WHEREAS, Anton Scharko was preceded in death by his | ||||||
| 16 | parents, and by his wife of 57 years, Mary; and
| ||||||
| 17 | WHEREAS, Anton Scharko is survived by his daughters, Maria | ||||||
| 18 | (Art) Santos and Jane (Brian) Palmer; his grandchildren, Thomas | ||||||
| 19 | Mathews, Anthony (Ashley) Mathews, Katie Mathews, and Kelly | ||||||
| 20 | Mathews; and his great-grandchild, Wyatt Mathews; therefore, | ||||||

| 2 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL | ||||||
| 3 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
| 4 | Anton Scharko, and extend our sincere condolences to his | ||||||
| 5 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
| 6 | further
