| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
| 3 | learn of the death of James J. Aitken of Rock Island, who | ||||||
| 4 | passed away on July 8, 2017; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, James Aitken was born in Rock Island to James C. | ||||||
| 6 | and Ester M. Kratzer Aitken on March 11, 1929; he married Helen | ||||||
| 7 | Mullens in Rock Island on February 4, 1967; and
| ||||||
| 8 | WHEREAS, James Aitken retired from the United States Army | ||||||
| 9 | after 37 years; he served during World War II and the Korean | ||||||
| 10 | War; his second profession was an electronics technician; and
| ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, James Aitken was a member of Edgewood Baptist | ||||||
| 12 | Church in Rock Island and Moline American Legion Post 246; he | ||||||
| 13 | enjoyed working on all things electronic and playing the piano, | ||||||
| 14 | keyboard, and guitar; and
| ||||||
| 15 | WHEREAS, James Aitken was preceded in death by his parents; | ||||||
| 16 | his sisters, Margarete Eckhardt and Agnes Brandle; and his | ||||||
| 17 | daughter-in-law, Florenza McClay; and
| ||||||
| 18 | WHEREAS, James Aitken is survived by his wife, Helen | ||||||
| 19 | Aitken; his children, James Aitken Jr., Russell (Evah) McClay, | ||||||
| 20 | Sheri (Robert) Luckenbihl, Thomas (Mary) Aitken, Victoria | ||||||

| 1 | Jeffers, Bruce McClay, and Susanne (Thomas) Parker; 11 | ||||||
| 2 | grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and | ||||||
| 3 | nephews; therefore, be it

| 4 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | ||||||
| 5 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
| 6 | James J. Aitken, and extend our sincere condolences to his | ||||||
| 7 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
| 8 | further

| 9 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
