SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Myron D. Williams of Milan, who passed
4away on July 16, 2017; and
5 WHEREAS, Myron Williams was born in Webster City, Iowa to
6Sheldon and Lavina (Ryan) Williams on December 1, 1934; he
7graduated from Story City High School in Story City, Iowa; he
8joined the United States Army and served with a tank division
9in Germany; he married Norva Shirkey in Rock Island on April
1018, 1964; and
11 WHEREAS, Myron Williams was employed as a supervisor at
12John Deere Harvester Works in East Moline for 26 years; he
13later worked as a consultant at Sears Manufacturing in
14Davenport, Iowa for 15 years; and
15 WHEREAS, Myron Williams was a member and past commander of
16Reynolds American Legion Post 1166; he loved fishing, hunting,
17taking his children and grandchildren to the cabin in
18Minnesota, teaching his grandchildren to ski, tube, and fish,
19and the turtle races in Longville, Minnesota; and
20 WHEREAS, Myron Williams was preceded in death by his
21parents; uncles; and an aunt; and

1 WHEREAS, Myron Williams is survived by his wife, Norva; his
2daughters, Laurie (Richard) Aney, Clarissa Kay (Timothy)
3Hendley, and Shelly (Brian) Patrick; his son, Russell (Carri)
4Williams; his grandchildren, Christina, Jessica, and Matthew
5Aney, Kira and Tyler Hendley, Derek (Stephanie) Patrick, Kali
6Patrick, and Ella Williams; and four great-grandchildren;
7therefore, be it
8 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Myron D. Williams, and extend our sincere condolences to his
11family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
12further
13 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Myron Williams as an expression of
15our deepest sympathy.
