SENATE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
learn of the death of Bonnie B. Hinrichsen of Peoria, who
passed away on October 21, 2019; and
WHEREAS, Bonnie Hinrichsen was born in Charleston, South
Carolina to George and Lillie Peeples Baker on June 2, 1944;
she received her Bachelor of Science from the University of
South Carolina, her Master of Science from the University of
Illinois, and her Ph.D. from Southern Illinois University; she
married Dave Hinrichsen on June 6, 1993; and
WHEREAS, Bonnie Hinrichsen was Professor Emeritus in the
Nursing Department at Bradley University, where she taught and
inspired future nurses for 30 years, retiring in 2009; she was
highly respected and admired; and
WHEREAS, Bonnie Hinrichsen was a devoted wife, mother, and
grandmother; she and her husband enjoyed many wonderful years
together playing golf, traveling, and taking daily walks; she
had the warmth and kindness that made her house a "home"; and
WHEREAS, Bonnie Hinrichsen was preceded in death by her
parents; Grandma Bess Baker; and her son-in-law, Frank Perry;
and

WHEREAS, Bonnie Hinrichsen is survived by her husband,
Dave; her sister, Jo Anne (Dalton) Thompson; her nephews, Dal,
Rhett, and Doug; her daughters, Claire Perry, Ashley (Kevin)
Kinne, and Kellie (Jordan) Walker; her stepchildren, Jenette
(Lance) Brown, Jacob Hinrichsen, Jaclyn Hinrichsen, and Joseph
(Lynsi) Hinrichsen; and eight grandchildren; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
Bonnie B. Hinrichsen and extend our sincere condolences to her
family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to the family of Bonnie Hinrichsen as an expression
of our deepest sympathy.
