| ||||||
2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Ruth D. (Varnau) Wetekam of Crystal Lake, | ||||||
4 | who passed away on July 1, 2017; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Ruth Wetekam was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on April | ||||||
6 | 8, 1926; she married Harry Wetekam in 1948; they settled in | ||||||
7 | Crystal Lake in 1973; and
| ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, Ruth Wetekam worked in the front office of the | ||||||
9 | Country Gas Company for nearly two decades; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, Ruth Wetekam and her husband were members of First | ||||||
11 | Congregational Church of Crystal Lake, where she dedicated much | ||||||
12 | of her time to the church and the Women's Fellowship; she had a | ||||||
13 | love of gardening and delighted in visiting flower gardens in | ||||||
14 | various locales; she also enjoyed traveling with friends on | ||||||
15 | cruise ships; her greatest pride was raising her children and | ||||||
16 | being devoted to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; | ||||||
17 | and

18 | WHEREAS, Ruth Wetekam was preceded in death by her husband, | ||||||
19 | Harry; her brother, William; and by her parents; and
| ||||||
20 | WHEREAS, Ruth Wetekam is survived by her children, Donald |

1 | (Sheri), James (Nijjy), and Nancy (John); her grandchildren, | ||||||
2 | Noelle, Daniel, Sarah, LeAna, Adam, and Andrew; and six | ||||||
3 | great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

4 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | ||||||
5 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
6 | Ruth D. Wetekam, and extend our sincere condolences to her | ||||||
7 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | ||||||
8 | further

9 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
10 | presented to the family of Ruth Wetekam as an expression of our | ||||||
11 | deepest sympathy.
