| 1 | SENATE RESOLUTION
| ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
| 3 | learn of the death of Gene L. Nottolini, former Kane County | ||||||
| 4 | Circuit Judge, who passed away on September 5, 2013; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Gene Nottolini was born and raised in Elgin and | ||||||
| 6 | graduated from St. Edward Central Catholic High School; he | ||||||
| 7 | passed the bar exam in 1968 and joined an Elgin law firm where | ||||||
| 8 | he practiced family, criminal, and personal injury law; and
| ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, Gene Nottolini was appointed as an associate judge | ||||||
| 10 | in December 1984, and was appointed as a full circuit court | ||||||
| 11 | judge in 1988; he was elected as a circuit judge in 1990 and | ||||||
| 12 | served 21 years, including 3 years as Chief Judge of the 16th | ||||||
| 13 | Circuit from April 1993 through 1996; in 1991, he became the | ||||||
| 14 | presiding judge of the Family Court Division, where he | ||||||
| 15 | implemented a child-custody mediation program and later helped | ||||||
| 16 | design and implement the Kids Education Program; he retired | ||||||
| 17 | from the bench in November of 2005; and
| ||||||
| 18 | WHEREAS, Gene Nottolini is survived by his wife, Kay; his | ||||||
| 19 | sons, Gene, Jr. and Joseph Nottolini; and his 5 grandchildren; | ||||||
| 20 | therefore, be it

| 21 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL | ||||||

| 1 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
| 2 | Gene L. Nottolini, former Kane County Circuit Judge, and extend | ||||||
| 3 | our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who | ||||||
| 4 | knew and loved him; and be it further
| ||||||
| 5 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 6 | presented to the family of Gene Nottolini as an expression of | ||||||
| 7 | our deepest sympathy.
