SENATE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
learn of the death of Gene L. Nottolini, former Kane County
Circuit Judge, who passed away on September 5, 2013; and
WHEREAS, Gene Nottolini was born and raised in Elgin and
graduated from St. Edward Central Catholic High School; he
passed the bar exam in 1968 and joined an Elgin law firm where
he practiced family, criminal, and personal injury law; and
WHEREAS, Gene Nottolini was appointed as an associate judge
in December 1984, and was appointed as a full circuit court
judge in 1988; he was elected as a circuit judge in 1990 and
served 21 years, including 3 years as Chief Judge of the 16th
Circuit from April 1993 through 1996; in 1991, he became the
presiding judge of the Family Court Division, where he
implemented a child-custody mediation program and later helped
design and implement the Kids Education Program; he retired
from the bench in November of 2005; and
WHEREAS, Gene Nottolini is survived by his wife, Kay; his
sons, Gene, Jr. and Joseph Nottolini; and his 5 grandchildren;
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL

ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
Gene L. Nottolini, former Kane County Circuit Judge, and extend
our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who
knew and loved him; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to the family of Gene Nottolini as an expression of
our deepest sympathy.
