SENATE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
learn of the death of Edward "Ed" Woods of Carbon Cliff, who
passed away on September 26, 2019; and
WHEREAS, Ed Woods was born in Silvis to Carl and Sophie
(Roszczyk) Woods on December 7, 1936; he served in the United
States Air Force; he married Lois Prine in Moline on December
31, 1963; and
WHEREAS, Ed Woods owned and operated Woods Garage in East
Moline and the Barstow Airport; and
WHEREAS, Ed Woods was a loving husband, father,
grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather;
and
WHEREAS, Ed Woods was preceded in death by his parents; his
brother, Jerry; and his sister, Joyce; and
WHEREAS, Ed Woods is survived by his wife, Lois; his
children, Brenda (Dwayne) Loete, Debra Killian-Sebelien, Joyce
Grumadas, Timothy (Yvonne) Woods, Kathleen Grumadas, and
Dominic Woods; his brother, Dennis (Diane) Woods; his
sister-in-law, Shirley; ten grandchildren; and many

great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
Edward "Ed" Woods and extend our sincere condolences to his
family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to the family of Ed Woods as an expression of our
deepest sympathy.
