| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
| 3 | learn of the death of Evelyn Logan of Lincoln, who passed away | ||||||
| 4 | on March 27, 2012; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, She was born on October 15, 1927 in Elkhart, the | ||||||
| 6 | daughter of Charles and Jessie Mae De Frates Sloan; she married | ||||||
| 7 | Edgar L. Logan on May 22, 1949 in Lincoln at her parents home; | ||||||
| 8 | and
| ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, She was a member of Lincoln Christian Church; a | ||||||
| 10 | chaperone for Good News Publishing Co. Church Choir; Sunday | ||||||
| 11 | school superintendent of Lincoln Christian Church; volunteer | ||||||
| 12 | at Jefferson School Library; a member of Harvest of Talents; | ||||||
| 13 | Deaconess at Lincoln Christian Church; and a member of the | ||||||
| 14 | Sarah Circle; and
| ||||||
| 15 | WHEREAS, She was named Citizen of the Month by the Lincoln | ||||||
| 16 | Courier; she tutored second and fifth grade students; she was | ||||||
| 17 | on the Board of Education for 18 years for Lincoln Elementary | ||||||
| 18 | School District #27; and she was President of the Community | ||||||
| 19 | Concert; and
| ||||||
| 20 | WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her parents; her | ||||||
| 21 | brothers, Stephen "Bud" and Robert Sloan; her sisters, Helena | ||||||

| |||||||
| 1 | "Sis" Hurley, Margaret Newberry, Gladys Aper, and Hope | ||||||
| 2 | Klockenga; and
| ||||||
| 3 | WHEREAS, Evelyn Logan is survived by her husband; her sons, | ||||||
| 4 | Lee (Barbara) Logan, Roy Logan, and John (Becky) Logan; her | ||||||
| 5 | brother, Chuck (Mary Ann) Sloan; her sister, Helen Singley; her | ||||||
| 6 | 4 grandchildren; and her 2 great-grandchildren; therefore, be | ||||||
| 7 | it
| ||||||
| 8 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL | ||||||
| 9 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | ||||||
| 10 | her family and friends, the passing of Evelyn Logan; and be it | ||||||
| 11 | further
| ||||||
| 12 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 13 | presented to the family of Evelyn Logan as a symbol of our | ||||||
| 14 | sincere sympathy.
