| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
| 3 | learn of the death of Roberta "Birdie" L. Bakalar of Crystal | ||||||
| 4 | Lake, who passed away on June 18, 2017; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Roberta Bakalar was born to Phyllis Copelin and | ||||||
| 6 | Robert Knicker on August 4, 1955; she grew up in Bensenville | ||||||
| 7 | and attended St. Mathews Grade School in Glendale Heights and | ||||||
| 8 | Driscoll High School in Roselle; and
| ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, Roberta Bakalar was an employee with AT&T for many | ||||||
| 10 | years and was a dedicated United States Postal Service employee | ||||||
| 11 | in Cary for 18 years; and
| ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, Roberta Bakalar was extremely passionate about | ||||||
| 13 | gardening and volunteered her time to help beautify the gardens | ||||||
| 14 | at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic church on Oak Street in | ||||||
| 15 | Crystal Lake; she loved fishing, antiquing, and road trips; she | ||||||
| 16 | had a genuine love of life, laughter, and a few beers with good | ||||||
| 17 | friends; and
| ||||||
| 18 | WHEREAS, Roberta Bakalar was preceded in death by her | ||||||
| 19 | father, Robert; and
| ||||||
| 20 | WHEREAS, Roberta Bakalar is survived by her husband, | ||||||

| |||||||
| 1 | Michael "Beef" Bakalar; her sons, James "JP" Geib, Josh Geib, | ||||||
| 2 | and Brian Bakalar; and many brothers, sisters, loving family | ||||||
| 3 | members, and lifelong friends; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 4 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | ||||||
| 5 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
| 6 | Roberta "Birdie" L. Bakalar, and extend our sincere condolences | ||||||
| 7 | to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be | ||||||
| 8 | it further
| ||||||
| 9 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 10 | presented to the family of Roberta Bakalar as an expression of | ||||||
