| 1 | SENATE RESOLUTION
| ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
| 3 | to learn of the death of Donald M. "Don" Turner of Milan, who | ||||||
| 4 | passed away on December 6, 2021; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Don Turner was born in Rock Island on December | ||||||
| 6 | 15, 1945; he served in the U.S. Navy for four years; he married | ||||||
| 7 | Michaeline Sue "Mickie" Meyer in Milan on November 29, 1969, | ||||||
| 8 | and she preceded him in death on August 14, 2019; and
| ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, Don Turner worked as a lineman for the | ||||||
| 10 | Iowa-Illinois Gas and Electric Company for many years; he | ||||||
| 11 | finished his career as an electrician for John Deere and | ||||||
| 12 | Company, retiring on April 1, 2010; and
| ||||||
| 13 | WHEREAS, Don Turner was an avid golfer who made one hole in | ||||||
| 14 | one, and he was a member of the Indian Bluff Golf Course and a | ||||||
| 15 | former member of the Pinnacle Country Club; he was also a | ||||||
| 16 | member of the Milan Rifle Club, the National Rifle Association | ||||||
| 17 | (NRA), and the American Legion; and
| ||||||
| 18 | WHEREAS, Don Turner enjoyed spending time with different | ||||||
| 19 | groups of friends, playing golf, riding motorcycles, | ||||||
| 20 | exercising at Rock Valley, and shooting at the Milan Rifle | ||||||
| 21 | Club; he enjoyed vegetable gardening and taking motorcycle | ||||||

| 1 | trips with his wife, Mickie, in earlier years; and
| ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, Don Turner was preceded in death by his sister, | ||||||
| 3 | Pam Buster; and
| ||||||
| 4 | WHEREAS, Don Turner is survived by his mother, Bernice | ||||||
| 5 | Halley; his niece, Katrina (David) Dixon; his nephew, Tim | ||||||
| 6 | Buster; the members of the Meyer family; and his close | ||||||
| 7 | friends; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 8 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL | ||||||
| 9 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
| 10 | Donald M. "Don" Turner and extend our sincere condolences to | ||||||
| 11 | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
| 12 | further
| ||||||
| 13 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 14 | presented to the family of Don Turner as an expression of our | ||||||
| 15 | deepest sympathy.
