| 1 | SENATE RESOLUTION
| ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
| 3 | learn of the death of Larry Edward Taylor of Zion, who was | ||||||
| 4 | called home to be with the Lord on February 13, 2010; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, He was born on December 21, 1957 to Dallas and | ||||||
| 6 | Lawrence Taylor in Zion; he accepted Christ into his life as a | ||||||
| 7 | young child and was baptized at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist | ||||||
| 8 | Church in Zion, by Reverend B. J. Gaston; Larry united with the | ||||||
| 9 | Gideon Missionary Baptist Church on October 10, 1999, where he | ||||||
| 10 | was a member of the Usher ministry and worked with Gideon's Cub | ||||||
| 11 | Scout troop; on March 6, 2005 Larry restored his fellowship | ||||||
| 12 | with Gideon; and
| ||||||
| 13 | WHEREAS, He was employed at Zion Park District from 1989 | ||||||
| 14 | until his passing; he was known for preparing the ice for all | ||||||
| 15 | the Zion Ice Shows; Larry loved to live life and being | ||||||
| 16 | outdoors; he enjoyed sports and played volleyball locally for | ||||||
| 17 | years; he enjoyed hunting wild boar and fishing; he also | ||||||
| 18 | enjoyed spending time with family and friends, helping the | ||||||
| 19 | family host its family reunion with the help of the Zion Park | ||||||
| 20 | District; and

| 21 | WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence | ||||||
| 22 | Taylor; his grandparents; his four uncles, Lee Prenton Taylor, | ||||||
| |||||||
| |||||||
| 1 | Columbus Taylor, C. Dell Williams, and Elmo Taylor; his aunt; | ||||||
| 2 | and one cousin; and
| ||||||
| 3 | WHEREAS, He leaves to cherish his precious memory his | ||||||
| 4 | loving and devoted mother, Dallas Taylor; his wife, Michele | ||||||
| 5 | Taylor; his daughter, Kimberly; his three sons, Lawrence | ||||||
| 6 | (L.C.), Nicholas, and John; his sister, Sheila (Michael) | ||||||
| 7 | Copeland; his two brothers, Richard Taylor and Melvin Taylor; | ||||||
| 8 | his two nieces, Andrea and Candace; his nephew, Michael Jr.; | ||||||
| 9 | his grandchildren, Ahlaya and Joshua; his uncle, Amos (Alice) | ||||||
| 10 | Taylor; his aunts, Pauline Taylor and Vilessia Armstead; and a | ||||||
| 11 | host of other relatives and friends; therefore, be it

| 12 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL | ||||||
| 13 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourns, along with | ||||||
| 14 | his family and friends, the passing of Larry Taylor; and be it | ||||||
| 15 | further
| ||||||
| 16 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 17 | presented to the family of Larry Taylor as a symbol of our | ||||||
| 18 | sincere sympathy.
