2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
3 | to learn of the death of Robert L. "Bob" Anderson of Moline, | ||||||
4 | who passed away on December 9, 2023; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Bob Anderson was born in Burlington, Iowa to | ||||||
6 | Robert C. and Evelyn A. Anderson on October 12, 1932; he | ||||||
7 | graduated from Burlington High School and served in the U.S. | ||||||
8 | Army; he received his bachelor's degree and a seminary degree | ||||||
9 | from Augustana College; he received a degree from Union | ||||||
10 | Seminary at Columbia University for Advanced Study and a | ||||||
11 | doctorate in law at Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kansas; he | ||||||
12 | married Roberta M. Linse in Davenport, Iowa on September 14, | ||||||
13 | 1957; and

14 | WHEREAS, Bob Anderson was a professor and administrator at | ||||||
15 | Augustana College in Rock Island; he worked at Deere & Co. as | ||||||
16 | manager of public policy and government relations and in the | ||||||
17 | law department, specializing in political and legislative | ||||||
18 | activities; he also worked as a legislative aid for U.S. | ||||||
19 | Representative, Tom Railsback; and

20 | WHEREAS, Bob Anderson served as a parish pastor at St. | ||||||
21 | Andrews Lutheran Church in West Chicago and worked for the | ||||||
22 | Lutheran Church of America in areas of social justice; and

1 | WHEREAS, Bob Anderson enjoyed many things involving the | ||||||
2 | water, including spending time with family and friends at Lake | ||||||
3 | Geneva, Wisconsin; he also enjoyed his time as a volunteer | ||||||
4 | fireman with the Moline 2nd Alarmers; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Bob Anderson was preceded in death by his son, | ||||||
6 | Michael Anderson; and
| ||||||
7 | WHEREAS, Bob Anderson is survived by his wife, Bobbie; his | ||||||
8 | son, Jeff (Linda) Anderson; his granddaughters, Lauren and | ||||||
9 | Lindsey Anderson; and his sister, Lucia (Richard) Moore; | ||||||
10 | therefore, be it

11 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL | ||||||
12 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
13 | Robert L. "Bob" Anderson and extend our sincere condolences to | ||||||
14 | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
