2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Joel C. Earnest of Moline, who passed | ||||||
4 | away on June 18, 2017; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Joel Earnest was born in Hamilton, Alabama to | ||||||
6 | Howard and Vera Lee Knight Earnest on October 14, 1943; he | ||||||
7 | served in the United States Army and married Marianne Bader in | ||||||
8 | Georgia on August 21, 1964; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Joel Earnest retired in 1995 from John Deere in | ||||||
10 | Moline after 32 years; he also worked for the Bettendorf school | ||||||
11 | system; and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Joel Earnest attended Jesus Lighthouse Church; he | ||||||
13 | was a member of the United Auto Workers and the National Rifle | ||||||
14 | Association; and
| ||||||
15 | WHEREAS, Joel Earnest was preceded in death by his | ||||||
16 | daughter, Linda Earnest; his son, Jimmy Earnest; his parents; | ||||||
17 | and his younger brother; and
| ||||||
18 | WHEREAS, Joel Earnest is survived by his wife, Marianne | ||||||
19 | Earnest; his son, Joel C. Earnest Jr.; and his granddaughters, | ||||||
20 | Robyn Earnest and Emily Earnest; therefore, be it

2 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
3 | Joel C. Earnest, and extend our sincere condolences to his | ||||||
4 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
5 | further
