SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Stacy Verne Dixon of Chicago, who passed
4away on May 21, 2017; and
5 WHEREAS, Stacy Dixon was born to Shirley V. Allers and
6Wayne L. Boyle; she attended Eastern Illinois University, where
7she met her future husband, Jeffrey A. Dixon, in 1978 and they
8were married a year later; and
9 WHEREAS, Stacy Dixon began her public relations career
10working for 15 years at AT&T; she later started her own public
11relations firm in 1994 and three years later, her husband
12joined her to form Dixon and Co., Public Relations and
13Government Affairs; and
14 WHEREAS, Stacy Dixon enjoyed reading and was a member of
15the Beverly Bookinistas and the South Loop Book Club; she
16enjoyed her retreat from the city, a three-story home she and
17her husband built in 2004 in Michigan City, Indiana, that was
18painted lilac, dubbed "Purple Haze"; and
19 WHEREAS, Stacy Dixon was preceded in death by her parents,
20her father-in-law, Senator Alan J. Dixon; and her brother,
21Steven Boyle; and

1 WHEREAS, Stacy Dixon is survived by her husband, Jeff; her
2daughters, Jessica Suzanne (Scott) Heitman and Whitney
3Elizabeth (Nicholas) Buha; her granddaughter, Lily Joan
4Heitman; her mother-in-law, Joan "Jody" Dixon; her siblings,
5Suzanne Boyle (Jim Haverstick) and Scott (Lisa) Allers; and
6many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
7 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9Stacy Verne Dixon, and extend our sincere condolences to her
10family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
11further
12 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Stacy Dixon as an expression of our
14deepest sympathy.
