SENATE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
learn of the death of Naidene Johns, who passed away on March
9, 2012; and
WHEREAS, Naidene Johns was born on October 4, 1927, in
Stoddard, Missouri; she was the daughter of Garnett and Virgie
May (McFerron) Ramsey; she married Calvin E. Johns on March 5,
1947, in Alton; and
WHEREAS, Naidene Johns had worked during her life for
Owens-Illinois Glass and Merle Norman Cosmetics; she also sold
Watkins and Shaklee Products; and
WHEREAS, Naidene Johns was a member of the Heartland
Quilter and belonged to several bowling leagues, including the
O-I Ladies Bowling League; and
WHEREAS, Naidene Johns enjoyed spending time with her
family and cooking for family gatherings and holidays; and
WHEREAS, Naidene Johns was preceded in death by her
husband; her parents; her son, Terry Lynn Johns; her
grandchildren, Jimmee and Adam Johns; and her siblings, D.J.
Ramsey and Thelma Hannon; and

WHEREAS, Naidene Johns is survived by her sons and
daughters-in-law, Barry and Pat Johns, Danny Johns, Randy and
Rebecca Johns, Steven Johns, and Scott and Jean Johns; her
grandchildren, Jason Johns, Lindsey Johns, Patrick (Stacy)
Johns, Stephanie (Jay) Sinclair, Lauren Johns, Sam Johns, and
Aryn (J.C.) Bierbaum; and her 5 great-grandchildren;
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
her family and friends, the passing of Naidene Johns; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to the family of Naidene Johns as an expression of
our sympathy.
