SENATE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
learn of the death of John D. Saletta M.D. of Glenview, who
passed away on June 19, 2017; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Saletta graduated from the Loyola University
Chicago Stritch School of Medicine in 1962; he married Suzanne
(Shay) Saletta; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Saletta was a respected surgeon for 50 years,
specializing in general surgery; he was with Advocate Lutheran
General Hospital in Park Ridge for 35 years; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Saletta is survived by his wife of 57 years,
Suzanne; his children, John (Amy) Saletta, Tom (Katie) Saletta,
Suzanne (Michael) Hogarty, Mary (Henry) Conforti, and Michael
Saletta; his grandchildren, Meghan, Michael, and Jack Saletta,
Matthew, Patrick, John, and Molly Saletta, Sean and Stephen
Hogarty, and Henry and Kathleen Conforti; and his
brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Richard (Joanne) Shay and
Virginia (Peter) Murphy; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
John D. Saletta M.D., and extend our sincere condolences to his

family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to the family of Dr. Saletta as an expression of our
deepest sympathy.
