SENATE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
learn of the death of Michael E. Tekampe, who passed away on
July 20, 2019; and
WHEREAS, Michael Tekampe was born in Chicago to Leo J. and
Evelyn C. Tekampe on January 14, 1947; and
WHEREAS, Michael Tekampe made the United States Marine
Corps his career and served three tours during the Vietnam War;
and
WHEREAS, Michael Tekampe loved his friends and family
dearly; he lived his life by the motto "Practice Random
Kindness And Senseless Acts Of Beauty"; he will be missed by
all who knew him; and
WHEREAS, Michael Tekampe was preceded in death by his
parents; his daughter, Jennifer Kye Tekampe; his brothers,
Ralph and Robert Tekampe; and his sister, Jeanne Franklin; and
WHEREAS, Michael Tekampe is survived by his daughters,
Lindsay (Eric) Dennis and Kristina Shelley; his grandchildren,
Luke Michael Dennis, Kyle Robert Dennis, Joseph Byron Shelley
II, and Matthew Michael Shelley; his brothers, John L. and

James Tekampe; his sisters, Mary Cash, Margaret Dausman, and
Elizabeth Syvertsen; and many nieces and nephews; therefore, be
it
RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
Michael E. Tekampe and extend our sincere condolences to his
family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to the family of Michael Tekampe as an expression of
our deepest sympathy.
