| 1 | SENATE RESOLUTION
| ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, Moneys received by the Department of Revenue under | ||||||
| 3 | the Motor Fuel Tax Law, including payments made to the | ||||||
| 4 | Department by member jurisdictions participating in the | ||||||
| 5 | International Fuel Tax Agreement, are deposited into the Motor | ||||||
| 6 | Fuel Tax Fund; and
| ||||||
| 7 | WHEREAS, Cook County receives a portion of the State moneys | ||||||
| 8 | deposited into the Motor Fuel Tax Fund from the Department of | ||||||
| 9 | Transportation; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 10 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL | ||||||
| 11 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that the Auditor General is | ||||||
| 12 | directed to conduct a performance audit of the State moneys | ||||||
| 13 | provided by or through the Motor Fuel Tax to Cook County in | ||||||
| 14 | Fiscal Year 2012 and in Fiscal Year 2013; and be it further
| ||||||
| 15 | RESOLVED, That this performance audit include, but not be | ||||||
| 16 | limited to, the following determinations:
| ||||||
| 17 | (1) the purposes for which State moneys were provided | ||||||
| 18 | to Cook County; | ||||||
| 19 | (2) the actual use of State moneys by Cook County, | ||||||
| 20 | including the identity of any sub-recipients together with | ||||||
| 21 | the locations at which improvements were made; | ||||||
| 22 | (3) the nature and extent of any monitoring by the Cook | ||||||

| 1 | County Board of Commissioners of how the moneys were used; | ||||||
| 2 | (4) the nature and extent of monitoring by State | ||||||
| 3 | agencies of how Cook County used the State-provided moneys; | ||||||
| 4 | (5) whether, through a review of available | ||||||
| 5 | documentation, Cook County has met or is meeting the | ||||||
| 6 | purposes for which the State moneys were provided to the | ||||||
| 7 | county; and be it further
| ||||||
| 8 | RESOLVED, That Cook County and any other State agency or | ||||||
| 9 | other entity or person that may have information relevant to | ||||||
| 10 | this audit cooperate fully and promptly with the Auditor | ||||||
| 11 | General's Office in its audit; and be it further
| ||||||
| 12 | RESOLVED, That the Auditor General commence the audit as | ||||||
| 13 | soon as possible and report his findings and recommendations | ||||||
| 14 | upon completion in accordance with the provisions of Section | ||||||
| 15 | 3-14 of the Illinois State Auditing Act; and be it further
| ||||||
| 16 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 17 | delivered to the Auditor General.
