2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Charles M. Willms of Waukegan, who passed | ||||||
4 | away on July 27, 2019; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Charles Willms was born in Lake Forest to John | ||||||
6 | Christopher and Florence Rose (Peters) Willms on January 29, | ||||||
7 | 1932; he served in the United States Air Force during the | ||||||
8 | Korean War; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Charles Willms retired from the Social Security | ||||||
10 | Administration; he was a past Waukegan Township Trustee; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Charles Willms was a lifelong member of the | ||||||
12 | American Legion; his passion was serving on political | ||||||
13 | committees; he proudly served on the Spaulding School Board and | ||||||
14 | the Waukegan School Board for many years; and
| ||||||
15 | WHEREAS, Charles Willms was preceded in death by his | ||||||
16 | children, Beth Ann "Buffy" Willms-Brooks and Brian Willms; his | ||||||
17 | brothers, John, Howard, and his twin Robert Willms; and his | ||||||
18 | sister, Barbara Miceli; and
| ||||||
19 | WHEREAS, Charles Willms is survived by his wife of 64 | ||||||
20 | years, Yvonne (Soderberg); his sons, Dorman (Linda) Willms and |

1 | Kevin Willms; his daughters, Robin Ward and Carla Sayre; his | ||||||
2 | daughter-in-law, Lynne Willms; his ten grandchildren; his | ||||||
3 | eight great-grandchildren; and his brother, Richard (Wilda) | ||||||
4 | Willms; therefore, be it

5 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | ||||||
6 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
7 | Charles M. Willms and extend our sincere condolences to his | ||||||
8 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
9 | further

10 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
11 | presented to the family of Charles Willms as an expression of | ||||||
12 | our deepest sympathy.
