SENATE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
to learn of the death of James Russell Beard of Acworth, who
passed away on November 8, 2021; and
WHEREAS, James Beard was an avid gardener and shared his
crops with family and friends; he loved the process of canning
and freezing his crops to enjoy all winter; he loved preparing
entrees on the smoker that he and his nephew built and enjoyed
sharing his cooking techniques with all his nieces and
nephews; he would break bread with family and friends anywhere
and anytime; and
WHEREAS, James Beard enjoyed traveling and the adventures
that he and his wife shared, making memories and friends along
the way; he was a skilled woodworker and carpenter and always
had projects going; he and his brother loved fishing; and
WHEREAS, James Beard is survived by his wife, Mary Lynn
Beard; his daughter, Judy (Randy) Beard Graeser; his brother,
Leonard E. (Claudia) Beard; his sister, Sharon (Bill) Harrell;
his grandchildren, Gabe, Sam, and Maddy Graeser; and several
nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL

ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
James Russell Beard and extend our sincere condolences to his
family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to the family of James Beard as an expression of our
deepest sympathy.
