SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of William "Dennis" Icenogle of
4Blandinsville, who passed away on November 19, 2023; and
5 WHEREAS, Dennis Icenogle was born to William E. and Wilma
6Jean Bauser Icenogle in Spring Valley on May 20, 1944, and he
7served as a medical corpsman in the U.S. Army during the
8Vietnam War from 1964 to 1967; he received the Purple Heart,
9the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign
10Medal, the Combat Medical Badge, and the Marksman Medal; he
11married Mary Kathryn Coakley in Blandinsville on April 5,
121969; he began living in Blandinsville in 1981; and
13 WHEREAS, Dennis Icenogle worked as a truck driver; he also
14worked as a police officer in Blandinsville and Warsaw for
15several years; and
16 WHEREAS, Dennis Icenogle was a member of the American
17Legion; and
18 WHEREAS, Dennis Icenogle was preceded in death by his
19parents; his son, Douglas Edward Icenogle; and his brother,
20Gary Lynn Icenogle; and

1 WHEREAS, Dennis Icenogle is survived by his wife; his
2children, Cheryl Ann Campbell, Wendell Eugene (Michelle
3Nicole) Icenogle, Robin Denise (Richard) Shinall, and William
4Eric (Sheila) Icenogle; 13 grandchildren; nine
5great-grandchildren; his brother, Eldon Icenogle; and his
6sisters, Debra Bordenkircher, Barbara Bailey, and Shelly
7(Hank) Petrey; therefore, be it
8 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10William "Dennis" Icenogle and extend our sincere condolences
11to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be
