1 | SENATE RESOLUTION | ||||||
2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
3 | to learn of the death of Frank B. Robinson of Rock Island, who | ||||||
4 | passed away on November 12, 2023; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Frank Robinson was born to William Robert and | ||||||
6 | Aleta Elva Chapman Robinson in Rochester, New York on February | ||||||
7 | 3, 1936; he married Joan Kieso at St. Paul Lutheran Church in | ||||||
8 | Aurora, Illinois on December 26, 1959; he served in the U.S. | ||||||
9 | Army from 1959 to 1961; he earned his undergraduate degree | ||||||
10 | from Aurora College and his master's degree from the | ||||||
11 | University of Illinois; and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Frank Robinson worked as a biology teacher in the | ||||||
13 | Rock Island/Milan School District No. 41 for 30 years; and
| ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, Frank Robinson attended Two Rivers United | ||||||
15 | Methodist Church in Rock Island, where he sang in the choir, | ||||||
16 | played bells, taught Sunday school, and volunteered at the | ||||||
17 | meal site for 20 years; he enjoyed volunteering at the Quad | ||||||
18 | City Botanical Center and Black Hawk State Park, where he led | ||||||
19 | many bird-watching expeditions; and

20 | WHEREAS, Frank Robinson loved canoeing, bird-watching, | ||||||
21 | wood carving, and traveling abroad, and he and his wife |

1 | traveled to 12 countries together; he was an avid golfer and | ||||||
2 | gardener and enjoyed spending any free time he had outdoors; | ||||||
3 | he cherished spending time with his granddaughters more than | ||||||
4 | anything; and

5 | WHEREAS, Frank Robinson lived a life of service to others | ||||||
6 | and was a dear friend to many; and
| ||||||
7 | WHEREAS, Frank Robinson was preceded in death by his | ||||||
8 | parents; his wife; his daughter, Susan Natalie Robinson; and | ||||||
9 | his siblings, Nola Marie Corbally, Frederick K. Williamson | ||||||
10 | Robinson, and Joseph Robert Robinson; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Frank Robinson is survived by his children, Karin | ||||||
12 | Joan (Dennis) Weigel and Thomas Lee Robinson, and his | ||||||
13 | grandchildren, Sydney Suzanne Weigel, Kaylee Marie Weigel, | ||||||
14 | McKenzie Karin Weigel, and Chelsey Denae Weigel; therefore, be | ||||||
15 | it

16 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL | ||||||
17 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
18 | Frank B. Robinson and extend our sincere condolences to his | ||||||
19 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
