2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Robert L. "Pete" Petersen of Moline, who | ||||||
4 | passed away on August 7, 2019; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Pete Petersen was born in Rock Island to Fred F. | ||||||
6 | and Cora L. (DeLoach) Petersen on July 6, 1939; he was a | ||||||
7 | veteran of the United States Marine Corps; he married Denise A. | ||||||
8 | Grems in Rock Island on October 2, 1960; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Pete Petersen worked as a heavy equipment operator | ||||||
10 | with Hernstrom Excavating through Union Local 150; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Pete Petersen enjoyed tinkering in his garage, | ||||||
12 | working on his Model A, spending time on his swing, taking | ||||||
13 | rides on his lawn mower, traveling to Florida, and, most of | ||||||
14 | all, spending time with his family and grandchildren; and

15 | WHEREAS, Pete Petersen was preceded in death by his | ||||||
16 | parents; his brother, Fred; and his granddaughter, Jennifer; | ||||||
17 | and
| ||||||
18 | WHEREAS, Pete Petersen is survived by his wife of 58 years, | ||||||
19 | Denise; his children, Robert (Debbie) Petersen Jr., Tim | ||||||
20 | Petersen, Cindy (Tracy) Jensen, Tom Petersen, and Amy Petersen; |

1 | his grandchildren, Tyler, Josh, Kinzy, Dustin, Amanda, | ||||||
2 | Jonathan, and Katie; his great-grandchildren; and his sisters, | ||||||
3 | Nancy (Vern) Cook and Karen York; therefore, be it

4 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | ||||||
5 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
6 | Robert L. "Pete" Petersen and extend our sincere condolences to | ||||||
7 | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
8 | further

9 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
