SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Thomas Charles Roser, who passed away on
4September 25, 2013; and
5 WHEREAS, Thomas Roser was born on April 15, 1936 in
6Libertyville; and
7 WHEREAS, Thomas Roser served his country as a member of the
8United States Army from 1959 to 1965; and
9 WHEREAS, Thomas Roser was employed as a civil servant for
10many years until his retirement in 1994 as chief of the Plans
11Division for the Department of Defense; he also served on the
12Waukegan Special Police Force for 10 years; and
13 WHEREAS, Thomas Roser was an avid Harley Davidson
14enthusiast for many years; and
15 WHEREAS, Thomas Roser was preceded in death by his parents,
16Julia (Schmidt) and William Thomas Roser, and his brothers,
17William J. Roser and Jacob Brefeld; and
18 WHEREAS, Thomas Roser is survived by his loving wife, Mary
19Jo (Stripe) Roser; his children, Michelle (Greg) Major, Pamela

1(David) King, Gail (John) Frew, and Brad Roser; his
2grandchildren, Alyssa and Joshua King, McKenna and Reese Major,
3and Stephanie and Bailey Frew; his sister, Betty Gamble; and
4his many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
5 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
7family and friends, mourn the passing of Thomas Charles Roser;
8and be it further
9 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of Thomas Roser as an expression of our
11sympathy.
