2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of James "Jim" Schipper of Hillsdale, who | ||||||
4 | passed away on July 22, 2019; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Jim Schipper was born in Clinton, Iowa to Kenneth | ||||||
6 | Schipper and Donna Lynn Juist on December 25, 1960; he attended | ||||||
7 | Geneseo schools and graduated from Erie High School in 1979; he | ||||||
8 | then attended Black Hawk College; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Jim Schipper worked as a farmer; he also owned and | ||||||
10 | operated his own truck and drove for Ace Doran Hauling and | ||||||
11 | Rigging; he received the Million Mile Award as a truck driver; | ||||||
12 | and
| ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, Jim Schipper loved racing with his family; he | ||||||
14 | enjoyed the mudd boggs at the Bike Barn in Fenton and drag | ||||||
15 | racing at the Cordova drag strip; when he was younger, he went | ||||||
16 | trail riding and participated in horse shows with his mother; | ||||||
17 | he collected and restored Allis-Chalmers tractors with his | ||||||
18 | father and family and had one of the largest collections in the | ||||||
19 | area, which he showed at fairs and parades; for many years, he | ||||||
20 | was a member of the County Line Cruisers Car Club in Erie; he | ||||||
21 | was very involved in his community, volunteering and organizing | ||||||
22 | events such as movie nights and parades in Hillsdale; and

1 | WHEREAS, Jim Schipper was a man of routines; he went to | ||||||
2 | breakfast everyday at the Pink Pony in Erie and spent every | ||||||
3 | Sunday night eating Pizza at Bushy's in Lyndon; he enjoyed | ||||||
4 | socializing with his friends at the Hillsdale Legion and | ||||||
5 | listening to old country and classic rock on the radio, | ||||||
6 | especially his favorite band, AC/DC; he would often jump in his | ||||||
7 | truck to ride around; he loved fireworks and never missed a | ||||||
8 | show; he always made time to see his friends; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Jim Schipper was preceded in death by his | ||||||
10 | grandparents, George and Jenny Schipper; and Gerald and Dorothy | ||||||
11 | Juist; and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Jim Schipper is survived by his daughter, Nicole | ||||||
13 | (Steven Carey) Schipper; his sons, Clint (Bailey Kizer) | ||||||
14 | Schipper and James (Emma Rannfeldt) Jamison; his | ||||||
15 | grandchildren, Aubrey Carey, Carter Schipper, Brooklyn Goff, | ||||||
16 | and Tateum and Nova Jamison; his parents, Donna Henningsen and | ||||||
17 | Kenneth (Eileen) Schipper; his sister, Sue (Keith) Rezin; his | ||||||
18 | stepbrothers, Jamey and Jason Vermeire; and his special | ||||||
19 | friends, Kathy, Danny, and Mary Stevens, Brian Rundall, and | ||||||
20 | Vince Mosher; therefore, be it

21 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | ||||||
22 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |

1 | James "Jim" Schipper and extend our sincere condolences to his | ||||||
2 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||

4 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
5 | presented to the family of Jim Schipper as an expression of our | ||||||
6 | deepest sympathy.
