| 1 | SENATE RESOLUTION
| ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, Currently, access from Illinois Route 173 | ||||||
| 3 | (IL-173) to Interstate 94 (I-94) in Lake County is available | ||||||
| 4 | only for vehicles traveling South; there is no entrance point | ||||||
| 5 | for vehicles that wish to travel North; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Full-access between IL-173 and I-94 would create | ||||||
| 7 | an economic corridor in Lake County where competition is | ||||||
| 8 | strong, especially between Illinois and Wisconsin; and
| ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, Access and connectivity to transportation | ||||||
| 10 | improves economic growth and would increase Illinois' ability | ||||||
| 11 | to compete with Wisconsin; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 12 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | ||||||
| 13 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we urge the Illinois | ||||||
| 14 | Department of Transportation and the Illinois State Toll | ||||||
| 15 | Highway Authority to construct a full-access interchange at | ||||||
| 16 | IL-173 and I-94; and be it further

| 17 | RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be | ||||||
| 18 | delivered to the Secretary of the Illinois Department of | ||||||
| 19 | Transportation and the Executive Director of the Illinois State | ||||||
| 20 | Toll Highway Authority Board of Directors.
