| ||||||
2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of
Frederick Kowalske of Peoria, who passed | ||||||
4 | away on December 3, 2009; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Frederick Kowalske was born on July 22, 1937, in | ||||||
6 | Peoria; his parents were Frederick W. and Irma V. Callaway | ||||||
7 | Kowalske; he married Sharon Knowles in Peoria on February 4, | ||||||
8 | 1989; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Frederick Kowalske was employed at Kowalske and | ||||||
10 | Sons Sheet Metal for many years; he was then employed as an | ||||||
11 | advertising executive for Ross Advertising, where he retired as | ||||||
12 | company chairman on July 16, 2002, after 41 years of service; | ||||||
13 | and
| ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, After his retirement, Frederick Kowalske served | ||||||
15 | as the Executive Director for the Peoria Habitat for Humanity; | ||||||
16 | he was a member of the Peoria High Football Team and was | ||||||
17 | inducted into the Greater Peoria Sports Hall of Fame in 2001; | ||||||
18 | he was a member of the Salvation Army Board; he served on | ||||||
19 | various committees for the Peoria Riverfront Museum; he was a | ||||||
20 | past president of the Peoria Historical Society and the Boy | ||||||
21 | Scouts W.D. Boyce Council; he was a member of the Gridiron | ||||||
22 | Board and Peoria Opportunities Foundation and served on the |

1 | Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago's Community Investment | ||||||
2 | Advisory Council and the IVC School Board; he was also a member | ||||||
3 | of the First United Methodist Church in Peoria and was active | ||||||
4 | in the Wesley Class; and

5 | WHEREAS, Frederick Kowalske was a recipient of the Scouts | ||||||
6 | Silver Beaver Award and was named the Peoria Ad Club's Man of | ||||||
7 | the Year in 1992; and
| ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, Frederick Kowalske was preceded in death by his | ||||||
9 | parents; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, Frederick Kowalske is survived by his wife, | ||||||
11 | Sharon; his children, Kent (Laura) Kowalske, Lynne (Kevin) | ||||||
12 | Breitbarth, Susan Knowles, Sandie Klawer, and Shelly (Giacomo) | ||||||
13 | Baldini; his grandchildren, Alyssa, Drew, Kayla, Miranda, | ||||||
14 | Stephanie, John, Paul, and Jessica; and his | ||||||
15 | great-grandchildren, Haley and Corven; therefore, be it

16 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL | ||||||
17 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | ||||||
18 | his family and friends, the passing of Frederick Kowalske; and | ||||||
19 | be it further
| ||||||
20 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
21 | presented to the family of Frederick Kowalske as an expression |
