SENATE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
learn of the death of Raymond Lawrence Larsen of Waukegan, who
passed away on December 11, 2011; and
WHEREAS, Raymond Larsen was born on May 7, 1916; he was a
lifelong resident of Waukegan; and
WHEREAS, Raymond Larsen served his country with pride and
distinction during World War II; and
WHEREAS, Raymond Larsen was a third generation florist,
horticulturist, and business man; in later years, he was a
cattle rancher and world traveler; and
WHEREAS, Raymond Larsen was a member of the Rotary Club of
Waukegan; he was also a member of Christ Episcopal Church and
enjoyed participating in the "Honest John's Club"; and
WHEREAS, Raymond Larsen was preceded in death by his first
wife, Edna Larsen; his second wife, Laura Larsen; his sisters,
Dorothy Rice and Shirley Greene; and his brother, Larry Larsen;
and
WHEREAS, Raymond Larsen is survived by his son, John (Kaye)

Larsen; his daughter, Karen (Peter) Lucas; his grandchildren,
Katie Larsen, Brooke (Tory) Eide, John Paul (Andrea) Larsen,
and Lars (Julie) Lukas; and his 7 great grandchildren;
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
his family and friends, the passing of Raymond Lawrence Larsen;
and be it further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to the family of Raymond Larsen as an expression of
our sympathy.
