| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
| 3 | learn of the death of Allen Thomas "Sam" Wiggins of Park City, | ||||||
| 4 | who passed away on January 20, 2012; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, He was born February 16, 1926 in Elgin, and | ||||||
| 6 | married Bernice Szczepanek on September 2, 1950 at Holy Rosary | ||||||
| 7 | Church in North Chicago; he was a member of Queen of Peace | ||||||
| 8 | Church and the Fleet Reserve; and
| ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean | ||||||
| 10 | War and retired from the United States Navy in December, 1964 | ||||||
| 11 | after 23 years of service as a Chief Commissary Officer; and
| ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, He was an avid golfer and had a hole-in-one on the | ||||||
| 13 | 11th green at Foss Park; and
| ||||||
| 14 | WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents; his 3 | ||||||
| 15 | sisters; his 2 brothers; and his son-in-law, Ronald; and
| ||||||
| 16 | WHEREAS, Allen Wiggins is survived by his wife, Bernice; | ||||||
| 17 | his children, Richard (Kim) Wiggins, Rosemarie (Richard) | ||||||
| 18 | Jennings, Racheal Wiggins-Kolb, and Roxann (Manuel) Casillas; | ||||||
| 19 | his 6 grandchildren; his 4 great-grandchildren; his 3 brothers; | ||||||
| 20 | and his 2 sisters; he was also everyone's favorite uncle; | ||||||

| 2 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL | ||||||
| 3 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | ||||||
| 4 | his family and friends, the passing of Allen Wiggins; and be it | ||||||
| 5 | further
| ||||||
| 6 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 7 | presented to the family of Allen Wiggins as a symbol of our | ||||||
| 8 | sincere sympathy.
