| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
| 3 | learn of the death of Gary Wayne Ricketts Sr. of Port Byron, | ||||||
| 4 | who passed away on June 16, 2019; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Gary Ricketts Sr. was born in Muscatine to | ||||||
| 6 | Clarence and Violet Gasaway Ricketts on August 8, 1950; he | ||||||
| 7 | attended Muscatine and East Moline schools; he enlisted in the | ||||||
| 8 | United States Army Signal Corps and served as a lineman in | ||||||
| 9 | Vietnam; he married Constance Culbertson in 1974, and they | ||||||
| 10 | later divorced; he married Laurie Graham in 1999; and
| ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, Gary Ricketts Sr. retired from AT&T; and
| ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, Gary Ricketts played golf and enjoyed challenges | ||||||
| 13 | and tournaments with his golf buddies; he played in pool | ||||||
| 14 | leagues and tournaments; he took great pride in his Harley; he | ||||||
| 15 | loved his granddaughters and was proud of all of their | ||||||
| 16 | accomplishments; and
| ||||||
| 17 | WHEREAS, Gary Ricketts Sr. was preceded in death by his | ||||||
| 18 | parents; his wife, Laurie; his brother, Everett Eugene | ||||||
| 19 | Ricketts; and his sister, Joyce Marie Goodale; and
| ||||||
| 20 | WHEREAS, Gary Ricketts Sr. is survived by his son, Gary | ||||||

| 1 | (April) Ricketts Jr.; his daughter-in-law, Bobbi Ricketts; his | ||||||
| 2 | granddaughters, Alyssa (James) Mudd and Natasha Ricketts; his | ||||||
| 3 | sister, Roberta Callahan; and his brothers, Robert (Theresa) | ||||||
| 4 | Ricketts and Jerry Ricketts; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 5 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | ||||||
| 6 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
| 7 | Gary Wayne Ricketts Sr. and extend our sincere condolences to | ||||||
| 8 | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
