| ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
| 3 | learn of the death of Joseph Markiewicz, D.D.S., who passed | ||||||
| 4 | away on March 7, 2015; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Dr. Markiewicz served as a Captain in the United | ||||||
| 6 | States Air Force from 1960 to 1962; and
| ||||||
| 7 | WHEREAS, Dr. Markiewicz graduated from Loyola Dental | ||||||
| 8 | School in 1960 and practiced dentistry for 50 years; and
| ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, Dr. Markiewicz served as a North East Regional | ||||||
| 10 | Board Dental Examiner for 30 years, traveling to various dental | ||||||
| 11 | schools to perform board exams for the dental students; and
| ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, Dr. Markiewicz swam laps at the YMCA in Skokie 6 | ||||||
| 13 | days a week to keep in shape and loved to go on long walks with | ||||||
| 14 | his wife at the Botanical Gardens; he was a 46-year member of | ||||||
| 15 | St. Mary of the Woods parish and attended mass every morning, | ||||||
| 16 | helping with the Eucharist; he loved to tend to his yard, lawn, | ||||||
| 17 | and garden; he loved nice cars and was a lifelong member of the | ||||||
| 18 | Brookfield Zoo and the Museum of Science and Industry, which he | ||||||
| 19 | enjoyed visiting with his family and friends; and
| ||||||
| 20 | WHEREAS, Dr. Markiewicz was the beloved husband for 56 | ||||||

| 1 | years of Marilyn Markiewicz (nee Kaczmarek); the devoted father | ||||||
| 2 | of Joel (Michelle) and John (Patti); the cherished grandfather | ||||||
| 3 | of Matthew and Emily Markiewicz and Trisha Vallone; the dear | ||||||
| 4 | brother of Richard (Phyllis); the fond brother-in-law of the | ||||||
| 5 | late Carolyn (Raymond) Klenske; and the loving uncle of many | ||||||
| 6 | nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 7 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | ||||||
| 8 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
| 9 | Joseph Markiewicz, D.D.S., and extend our sincere condolences | ||||||
| 10 | to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be | ||||||
| 11 | it further
| ||||||
| 12 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 13 | presented to the family of Dr. Markiewicz as an expression of | ||||||
| 14 | our deepest sympathy.
