| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
| 3 | learn of the death of
George Henry Sides of Anna, who passed | ||||||
| 4 | away on October 4, 2009; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, George Sides was born on January 20, 1935, in Alto | ||||||
| 6 | Pass; he was the son of George Paul and Mabel LaWanda Bryant | ||||||
| 7 | Sides; he married Georgia Maude Davis on June 1, 1957, in | ||||||
| 8 | Murphysboro; and
| ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, George Sides served his country with pride and | ||||||
| 10 | distinction as a member of the United States Army during the | ||||||
| 11 | Korean War; and
| ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, George Sides was a member of Anna Heights Baptist | ||||||
| 13 | Church and Makanda Masonic Lodge 434 A.F. and A.M.; he also was | ||||||
| 14 | a member and past commander of the Carroll P. Foster VFW Post | ||||||
| 15 | 3455 in Anna; and
| ||||||
| 16 | WHEREAS, George Sides enjoyed fishing, golfing, and | ||||||
| 17 | watching NASCAR; and
| ||||||
| 18 | WHEREAS, George Sides was preceded in death by his parents | ||||||
| 19 | and his brother, Jim W. Sides; and
| ||||||

| 1 | WHEREAS, George Sides is survived by his wife, Georgia | ||||||
| 2 | Maude Sides; his daughter, Cindy (Jim) Walker; his | ||||||
| 3 | grandchildren, Brandon (Heather) Craig and Maelin Walker; his | ||||||
| 4 | great-grandchild, Kansas Craig; his aunts, Audrey Dusch and | ||||||
| 5 | Mildred Ford; and his many cousins, other relatives, and | ||||||
| 6 | friends; therefore, be it

| 7 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL | ||||||
| 8 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | ||||||
| 9 | his family and friends, the passing of George Henry Sides; and | ||||||
| 10 | be it further
| ||||||
| 11 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 12 | presented to the family of George Sides as an expression of our | ||||||
| 13 | sympathy.
