2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of
Velma Hutte of Alton, who passed away on | ||||||
4 | December 1, 2011; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Velma Hutte was born on September 6, 1919, in | ||||||
6 | Roxana; her parents were William and Minnie (Hamilton) Crews; | ||||||
7 | at the age of 16, she married Rudolph Sowders Sr.; she later | ||||||
8 | married Earl Hutte on June 21, 1961, in East St. Louis; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Velma Hutte was employed as an inspector for the | ||||||
10 | United States government at the Olin Corporation for 40 years | ||||||
11 | until her retirement; and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Velma Hutte was a member of the United | ||||||
13 | Presbyterian Church of Wood River; and
| ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, Velma Hutte enjoyed traveling, flowers, and | ||||||
15 | spending time with her grandchildren and her other family and | ||||||
16 | friends; and

17 | WHEREAS, Velma Hutte was preceded in death by her husband, | ||||||
18 | Earl Hutte; her parents; her son, Rudolph C. Sowders Jr.; and | ||||||
19 | her sister, Ruth Dreisbach; and

2 | Betty Sowders; her grandchildren, Rudolph Sowders III and his | ||||||

4 | Dublo and her spouse, Jeffrey Sr., Donna Droste, Jerry Sowders | ||||||
5 | and his spouse, Donna, and Mark Sowders; her grandchildren, | ||||||

16 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL | ||||||
17 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | ||||||
18 | her family and friends, the passing of Velma Hutte; and be it | ||||||
19 | further

20 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
21 | presented to the family of Velma Hutte as an expression of our | ||||||
22 | sympathy.
