SENATE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
learn of the death of Daniel R. "Danny" Lomelino of Girard, who
passed away on July 19, 2013; and
WHEREAS, Daniel Lomelino was born on October 2, 1949, in
Springfield; his parents were Stanley R. and Betty Lou (Garst)
Lomelino; he married Pat Matuska on May 24, 1975, in Girard;
and
WHEREAS, Daniel Lomelino graduated from Virden High School
in 1967; he served his country as a member of the United States
Army during the Vietnam War; and
WHEREAS, Daniel Lomelino was a member of the Virden Fire
Department for over 30 years; he served as assistant chief of
the department for 25 years until his retirement in 2012; he
was also a member of the Virden Dive Team; and
WHEREAS, Daniel Lomelino was a co-owner of Lomelino's
Welding in Virden and a member of the Hendricks Motor Sports
"Old Style Drag Racing Team"; and
WHEREAS, Daniel Lomelino was preceded in death by his
mother, Betty Lou Lomelino; and

WHEREAS, Daniel Lomelino is survived by his wife, Pat; his
father, Stanley R. Lomelino; his brother, David A. (Christine)
Lomelino; and his many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
family and friends, mourn the passing of Daniel R. "Danny"
Lomelino; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to the family of Daniel Lomelino as an expression of
our sympathy.
