SENATE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
learn of the death of Robert L. Henke of Edwardsville, who
passed away on November 11, 2011; and
WHEREAS, He was born February 21, 1949, in Granite City,
and was the son of the late Stephen M. and Esther (Cell) Henke;
he married Ethel N. Zeller on June 18, 1970; and
WHEREAS, He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving
from 1967 to 1971; he retired as a captain with the Madison
County Sheriff's Department where he worked for 33 years; upon
his retirement, he went to work for the Illinois Department of
Corrections as a parole supervisor; and
WHEREAS, He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in
Edwardsville; and
WHEREAS, Bob was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald
Henke; and a sister, Barbara Henke; and
WHEREAS, Robert Henke is survived by his wife, Ethel; his
son, Brian Henke and his wife, Tara, and his daughter, Lisa
Henke; his grandchildren, Lucas Henke and Reese Mersinger; and
his brother, Stephen Michael Henke and wife, Carol; therefore,

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
his family and friends, the passing of Robert Henke; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to the family of Robert Henke as a symbol of our
sincere sympathy.
