SENATE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
learn of the death of Robert L. "Bob" Wendell of East Moline,
who passed away on December 12, 2016; and
WHEREAS, Robert Wendell was born in Moline to Dewey and
Grace (Sheley) Wendell on December 29, 1922; he was a graduate
of Moline High School; he served in the United States Army Air
Corps during World War II from 1943 to 1945 in the 489th Bomber
Squadron while stationed in Corsica; he married Vada Mae
Reisenbigler on June 4, 1948; and
WHEREAS, Robert Wendell was an owner/operator of B & B
Glass Company in Moline for 40 years; and
WHEREAS, Robert Wendell was a member of American Legion
Post 246 and First Christian Church; he enjoyed gardening,
fishing, baseball, basketball, traveling with his wife, and
especially loved spending time with his granddaughters; and
WHEREAS, Robert Wendell was preceded in death by his
parents; his wife; his brother, Howard; and his sisters, Doris,
Helen, Vera, and Gert; and
WHEREAS, Robert Wendell is survived by his daughter,

Deborah K. Wendell; his sons, Jon (Maryvonne) Wendell, and
Robert "Butch" (Nancy) Wendell; his granddaughters, Hilary,
Kirsten, Isabella, and Illiana; and his sister, Marion Griffin;
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
Robert L. "Bob" Wendell, and extend our sincere condolences to
his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to the family of Robert Wendell as an expression of
our deepest sympathy.
