| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
| 3 | to learn of the death of Gregory C. Schrof of Bloomington, | ||||||
| 4 | formerly of Forrest, who passed away on November 4, 2020; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Gregory Schrof was born in Fairbury to Carl G. | ||||||
| 6 | and Ernestine (Earles) Schrof on November 20, 1959; he | ||||||
| 7 | graduated from Forrest-Strawn-Wing High School and attended | ||||||
| 8 | Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan; and
| ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, Gregory Schrof was employed at Schrof Companies | ||||||
| 10 | and Peiker/Piatchek Associates; and
| ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, Gregory Schrof was a member of the Mid-Illinois | ||||||
| 12 | Association of Realtors, the National Association of Realtors, | ||||||
| 13 | and Illinois Realtors; he was also a member of Bloomington | ||||||
| 14 | Lodge #43 A.F. & A.M., the Mohammed Shrine, and the Royal Order | ||||||
| 15 | of Jesters ct. 40; and
| ||||||
| 16 | WHEREAS, Gregory Schrof was an avid golfer; he was a | ||||||
| 17 | dedicated Jimmy Buffet fan and a lifelong Republican; family | ||||||
| 18 | was his top priority, and he exemplified the very definition | ||||||
| 19 | of unconditional love; he was affectionately know as "Opa" to | ||||||
| 20 | his three grandsons, who brought him great pride, joy, and | ||||||
| 21 | lots of laughter; he was a friend to many and was the first to | ||||||

| 1 | show up for someone in need; he was always the life of the | ||||||
| 2 | party, and his smile was contagious; and
| ||||||
| 3 | WHEREAS, Gregory Schrof was preceded in death by his | ||||||
| 4 | parents; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Gregory Schrof is survived by his daughter, | ||||||
| 6 | Lindsey (Justin) Voigts; his grandchildren, Jack, Leo, and | ||||||
| 7 | Finn Voigts; his sister, Pamela Rieger; his brother, Douglas | ||||||
| 8 | Schrof; and his longtime girlfriend, Lori Woodall; therefore, | ||||||
| 9 | be it
| ||||||
| 10 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL | ||||||
| 11 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
| 12 | Gregory C. Schrof and extend our sincere condolences to his | ||||||
| 13 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
| 14 | further
| ||||||
| 15 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 16 | presented to the family of Gregory Schrof as an expression of | ||||||
| 17 | our deepest sympathy.
