| 1 | SENATE RESOLUTION
| ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
| 3 | learn of the death of Philip Frank "Phil" Leable of Beach Park, | ||||||
| 4 | who passed away on April 8, 2019; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Phil Leable was born on the family farm in | ||||||
| 6 | unincorporated Rosecrans to Frank and Margaret Leable on | ||||||
| 7 | November 2, 1926; he married Margaret A. Pataky; and
| ||||||
| 8 | WHEREAS, Phil Leable was a dairy farmer for 22 years before | ||||||
| 9 | working as the Benton Township Highway Commissioner for over 20 | ||||||
| 10 | years; he also served as the Benton Township Clerk for 12 | ||||||
| 11 | years; and
| ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, Phil Leable was an active member of North Prairie | ||||||
| 13 | United Methodist Church; he had a passion for volunteering and | ||||||
| 14 | serving others through various clubs and organizations | ||||||
| 15 | including the Future Farmers of America, the Pure Milk | ||||||
| 16 | Association, Township Officials of Illinois, the Winthrop | ||||||
| 17 | Harbor Lions Club, the North Prairie School Board, and the | ||||||
| 18 | North Prairie Church Board, where he was dedicated to | ||||||
| 19 | rebuilding the church after it was destroyed by a fire; and
| ||||||
| 20 | WHEREAS, Phil Leable enjoyed downhill skiing throughout | ||||||
| 21 | his life, which he did until he was 84 years old; he also had an | ||||||

| 1 | active woodworking hobby and participated in numerous craft | ||||||
| 2 | shows; he could build or fix most anything; and
| ||||||
| 3 | WHEREAS, Phil Leable was preceded in death by his parents; | ||||||
| 4 | his sister, Lois (Elmer) Martin; and his brother, Richard | ||||||
| 5 | (Caryl) Leable; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Phil Leable is survived by his wife of 70 years, | ||||||
| 7 | Margaret; his daughters, Penny (Paul) Bouchard and Gail (Ward) | ||||||
| 8 | Brown; his grandchildren, Christopher (Ashley) Bouchard, | ||||||
| 9 | Bradford Drabant, and Anna (Daniel) Watterson; and his | ||||||
| 10 | great-grandchildren, Evan Bouchard, Olivia Bouchard, Levi | ||||||
| 11 | Bouchard, and Sophia Watterson; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 12 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | ||||||
| 13 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
| 14 | Philip Frank "Phil" Leable and extend our sincere condolences | ||||||
| 15 | to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be | ||||||
| 16 | it further
| ||||||
| 17 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 18 | presented to the family of Phil Leable as an expression of our | ||||||
| 19 | deepest sympathy.
