2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Charles F. "Bud" Kurtz of Moline, who | ||||||
4 | passed away on April 2, 2017; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Charles Kurtz was born in Moline to Charles and | ||||||
6 | Edna (Stark) Kurtz on March 17, 1928; he graduated from Rock | ||||||
7 | Island High School and attended Augustana College; he served in | ||||||
8 | the United States Army Signal Corps during the Korean War in | ||||||
9 | Korea and Japan; he married Meredith A. Eipper in Moline on | ||||||
10 | August 11, 1950; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Charles Kurtz began working with Mel Foster Real | ||||||
12 | Estate in 1948, where he was managing broker; for a short time, | ||||||
13 | he was co-owner of Kurtz-Patrick Real Estate; and
| ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, Charles Kurtz was a member of All Saints Episcopal | ||||||
15 | Church in Moline and the Illinois Quad-City Realty Association, | ||||||
16 | where he served as President in 1982; he had served as a Senior | ||||||
17 | Warden and a Junior Warden at Christ Episcopal Church in | ||||||
18 | Moline; and

19 | WHEREAS, Charles Kurtz was preceded in death by his parents | ||||||
20 | and his sister, Catherine McEntee; and

1 | WHEREAS, Charles Kurtz is survived by his wife, Meredith; | ||||||
2 | his son, Scott (Dixie) Kurtz; his daughter, Lisa (Russ) Perry; | ||||||
3 | and his grandchildren, Elyse and Evan Kurtz, and Sarah Perry; | ||||||
4 | therefore, be it

5 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | ||||||
6 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
7 | Charles F. "Bub" Kurtz, and extend our sincere condolences to | ||||||
8 | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
9 | further

10 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
11 | presented to the family of Charles Kurtz as an expression of | ||||||
12 | our deepest sympathy.
