2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Gary R. Paris of Maple Park, who passed | ||||||
4 | away on April 4, 2017; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Gary Paris was born in Aurora to Robert Sr. and | ||||||
6 | Merna (Johnson) Paris on March 14, 1957; and
| ||||||
7 | WHEREAS, Gary Paris began his employment with the city of | ||||||
8 | Geneva as a maintenance department mechanic; he was promoted | ||||||
9 | twice, first to chief mechanic in 1994 and later to fleet | ||||||
10 | maintenance supervisor in 2006; he was also ASE-certified as a | ||||||
11 | Master Automobile Technician by the National Institute for | ||||||
12 | Automotive Service Excellence; he serviced the backup power | ||||||
13 | generators at City Hall, the Police Department, Public Works | ||||||
14 | and the city's water utility; he also worked as an auto | ||||||
15 | mechanic at the Batavia Citgo and Batavia Standard stations;

17 | WHEREAS, Gary Paris was preceded in death by his mother, | ||||||
18 | Merna Paris, and his maternal and paternal grandparents; and
| ||||||
19 | WHEREAS, Gary Paris is survived by his father, Robert Paris | ||||||
20 | Sr.; his children, Jennifer Paris and Tim (Kristen) Paris; his | ||||||
21 | grandchildren, Courtney and Caitlin; his siblings, Patricia |

5 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
6 | Gary R. Paris, and extend our sincere condolences to his | ||||||
7 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
8 | further

9 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
10 | presented to the family of Gary Paris as an expression of our | ||||||
11 | deepest sympathy.
