2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
3 | to learn of the death of Kathleen E. "Kathy" Parker of Glen | ||||||
4 | Carbon, formerly of Collinsville, who passed away on July 1, | ||||||
5 | 2021; and
| ||||||
6 | WHEREAS, Kathy Parker was born in East St. Louis on | ||||||
7 | November 28, 1942; she graduated from Collinsville High School | ||||||
8 | in 1960; she married John E. "Jack" Parker on June 9, 1960; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Kathy Parker was employed as an executive | ||||||
10 | secretary at Swift Packing Company, Missouri Pacific in the | ||||||
11 | Legal Department, and IBM in the Personnel Department; and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, After returning to college and earning a master's | ||||||
13 | degree in Education, Kathy Parker later worked as an | ||||||
14 | elementary school teacher in Collinsville Unit #10, where she | ||||||
15 | taught for 28 years; and

16 | WHEREAS, Kathy Parker was creative with real estate and | ||||||
17 | loved to decorate; and
| ||||||
18 | WHEREAS, Kathy Parker was preceded in death by her | ||||||
19 | parents, William and Monica (Zukas) Wedemeyer, and her | ||||||
20 | sisters, Dorothy Mae and Mary Jane; and

1 | WHEREAS, Kathy Parker is survived by her husband of 61 | ||||||
2 | years, John E. "Jack" Parker; her sons, Kent (Elena) Parker | ||||||
3 | and Marc (Stephanie) Parker; and her grandchildren, Sam, | ||||||
4 | Madison, and Grant; therefore, be it
| ||||||
5 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL | ||||||
6 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
7 | Kathleen E. "Kathy" Parker and extend our sincere condolences | ||||||
8 | to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be | ||||||
9 | it further
| ||||||
10 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
11 | presented to the family of Kathy Parker as an expression of our | ||||||
12 | deepest sympathy.
