| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
| 3 | learn of the death of Vallmer Wayman Jordan; and
| ||||||
| 4 | WHEREAS, Vallmer Wayman Jordan was born on July 4, 1956, in | ||||||
| 5 | Chicago; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Vallmer Wayman Jordan received his education from | ||||||
| 7 | the Chicago Public Schools and the University of Illinois at | ||||||
| 8 | Urbana-Champaign; and
| ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, Vallmer Wayman Jordan accepted Christ as his | ||||||
| 10 | personal Lord and Savior; he was a member of Trinity United | ||||||
| 11 | Church of Christ, where he was mentored by Dr. Jeremiah A. | ||||||
| 12 | Wright, Jr. during his teenage years; and
| ||||||
| 13 | WHEREAS, Vallmer Wayman Jordan was a fine and dedicated | ||||||
| 14 | servant-leader committed to building the capacity of numerous | ||||||
| 15 | community organizations; he was affiliated with Breaking | ||||||
| 16 | Ground, the North Lawndale Employment Network, Project X, | ||||||
| 17 | Saving our Sons Ministries, Bethel New Life, and AG2G; and
| ||||||
| 18 | WHEREAS, Vallmer Wayman Jordan was preceded in death by his | ||||||
| 19 | parents, Vallmer Edward and Ethel B. Jordan; and
| ||||||

| 1 | WHEREAS, Vallmer Wayman Jordan is survived by his wife, | ||||||
| 2 | Vanessa; his son, Vallmer Edward II; his daughters, Joy | ||||||
| 3 | Valencia and Jacqueline Ruth; and his sisters, nieces, nephews, | ||||||
| 4 | other relatives, and friends; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 5 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL | ||||||
| 6 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | ||||||
| 7 | his family and friends, the passing of Vallmer Wayman Jordan; | ||||||
| 8 | and be it further
| ||||||
| 9 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this preamble and | ||||||
| 10 | resolution be presented to the family of Vallmer Wayman Jordan | ||||||
| 11 | as an expression of our sympathy.
