2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of James "Jim" Monday of Collinsville, who | ||||||
4 | passed away on September 15, 2011; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, He was born October 27, 1948, in Joliet, the son | ||||||
6 | of Shirley (Pritz) Monday and the late James C. Monday; he | ||||||
7 | married Michelle R. "Shelly" (Soles) Monday on April 19, 1997, | ||||||
8 | in Granite City; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, He retired March 28, 2006, as the Director of | ||||||
10 | Administration for Madison County after 23 years of dedicated | ||||||
11 | service; he was a member of the National Association of County | ||||||
12 | Administrators; and
| ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, He enjoyed photography, traveling, bird watching, | ||||||
14 | and spending time with his grandchildren; he was an avid | ||||||
15 | baseball fan and will be remembered for the love and special | ||||||
16 | times shared with his family and friends; and

17 | WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his father; and his | ||||||
18 | stepson, Michael Charles Moore; and
| ||||||
19 | WHEREAS, James Monday is survived by his wife, Michelle; | ||||||
20 | his daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and David Reed; his son |

1 | and daughter-in-law, Keith and Laurabree Monday; his stepson | ||||||
2 | and his wife, Brian and Jamie Haldeman; his grandchildren, | ||||||
3 | Daniel Reed, Joshua Reed, James Haldeman, and Ethan Monday; his | ||||||
4 | brothers and sisters-in-law, Greg and Diane Monday and Scott | ||||||
5 | and Tina Monday; and other extended family and friends; | ||||||
6 | therefore, be it

7 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL | ||||||
8 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | ||||||
9 | his family and friends, the passing of James Monday; and be it | ||||||
10 | further
| ||||||
11 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
12 | presented to the family of James Monday as a symbol of our | ||||||
13 | sincere sympathy.
