SENATE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
learn of the death of Elsa M. Strite of Richmond, who passed
away on November 19, 2014; and
WHEREAS, Elsa Strite was born on May 7, 1929 in Overkalix,
Sweden; her parents were Eduard and Alma (nee Olson) Johanson;
she married Lloyd "Bud" Strite on March 13, 1982 in Chicago;
and
WHEREAS, After graduating from nursing school, Elsa Strite
worked as a registered nurse for 45 years, working at Swedish
Covenant and Edgewater Hospitals in Chicago; she later worked
as a medical assistant for Dr. O'Donnell in Evanston for over
16 years until her retirement in 1990; and
WHEREAS, Elsa Strite was a member of Wonder Lake Bible
Church in Wonder Lake; and
WHEREAS, Elsa Strite enjoyed hiking, skiing, gardening,
and cooking; and
WHEREAS, Elsa Strite was preceded in death by 2 sisters and
2 brothers; and

WHEREAS, Elsa Strite is survived by her husband, "Bud"; a
sister, Gunnel Ragner; a niece; and a nephew; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her
family and friends, mourn the passing of Elsa M. Strite; and be
it further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to the family of Elsa Strite as an expression of our
sympathy.
