SENATE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
learn of the death of Susan Kay Browning of Perry, who passed
away on January 30, 2015; and
WHEREAS, Susan Browning was born in Quincy on November 7,
1956 to Marvin and Leah (nee Potter) Hull; she graduated from
Liberty High School in 1974 and attended what is now Truman
State University in Kirksville, Missouri; she married Robert L.
Browning on October 31, 1976 in Chambersburg; and
WHEREAS, Susan Browning and her husband owned and operated
Kaylynn's Kafe in Perry during the early 2000s; she recently
retired as Secretary for the Regional Office of Education in
Pittsfield; and
WHEREAS, Susan Browning was an active member of the Fish
Hook United Brethren Church, where she served as worship leader
and as a Sunday school teacher; she also served as Treasurer of
the Fairmount Township Sunday School Convention; she was a
20-year member of the Pike County 4-H Foundation Board, which
raised money for local 4-H programs, and she was a leader of
the Perry 4-H Stitchers Club for 6 years; she liked to travel,
sew, craft, and bake and was especially known for her delicious
pies; she was also active in State and local politics for the

Republican Party; and
WHEREAS, Susan Browning was preceded in death by her
daughter, Kaylynn; and
WHEREAS, Susan Browning is survived by her husband, Robert;
her mother, Leah Hull; her father, Marvin Hull; her 3 children:
Jason, Jeff and his wife, Nicole, and Ali Nicole; her 2
grandsons, Jakob Browning and Kalob Browning; her sister, Peggy
Ulm; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Howell and Jean
Browning; her 5 sisters-in-law; and many nieces, nephews; and
cousins; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
Susan Kay Browning, and extend our sincere condolences to her
family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to the family of Susan Browning as an expression of
our deepest sympathy.
