| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
| 3 | learn of the death of Daniel J. Naert of East Moline, who | ||||||
| 4 | passed away on March 18, 2017; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Daniel Naert was born in East Moline to Eugene and | ||||||
| 6 | Mary Anna Neels Naert on July 12, 1925; he graduated from St. | ||||||
| 7 | Anne School in 1939 and United Township High School in 1943; he | ||||||
| 8 | served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II | ||||||
| 9 | from 1943 to 1945 as a B-17 tail gunner; he graduated from | ||||||
| 10 | Bradley University in 1949 with a Bachelor of Science; he | ||||||
| 11 | married Anna Mae Hollembaek at St. Joseph Catholic Church in | ||||||
| 12 | Rock Island on August 25, 1951 and earned his Master of Science | ||||||
| 13 | in 1952; and
| ||||||
| 14 | WHEREAS, Daniel Naert retired from Rock Island Arsenal in | ||||||
| 15 | 1987 after 34 years of service; he also taught for seven years | ||||||
| 16 | in the following schools: Alleman High School, where he was a | ||||||
| 17 | member of the first faculty in 1949, United Township High | ||||||
| 18 | School, Hampton Elementary School, where he served as principal | ||||||
| 19 | and superintendent, and Ajo High School, Ajo, Arizona; and
| ||||||
| 20 | WHEREAS, Daniel Naert was a lifetime member of St. Anne | ||||||
| 21 | Catholic Church in East Moline; and

| 1 | WHEREAS, Daniel Naert was preceded in death by his wife, | ||||||
| 2 | Anna; his infant son, Joseph Naert; his parents; his siblings, | ||||||
| 3 | Elizabeth DeClercq, Frances Long, Charles Naert, Helen | ||||||
| 4 | Kerschieter, and Ann Marie Naert; and his son-in-law, Jim | ||||||
| 5 | Kuehnel; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Daniel Naert is survived by his children, Roch A. | ||||||
| 7 | (Julie) Naert, Mary Ann Kuehnel, and Dr. John J. (Kim) Naert; | ||||||
| 8 | his grandchildren, Amanda (Dan) Miller, Raechel Naert, Roch | ||||||
| 9 | (Kelsie) Naert, Maria (Tom) Hutchinson, Tom (Katie) Naert, | ||||||
| 10 | David Naert, Michael Naert, James Naert, and Beth Kuehnel; his | ||||||
| 11 | great-grandchildren, Brianna, Andrew, Matthew, and Quinn; and | ||||||
| 12 | his god-granddaughter, Emily; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 13 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | ||||||
| 14 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
| 15 | Daniel J. Naert, and extend our sincere condolences to his | ||||||
| 16 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
| 17 | further

| 18 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 19 | presented to the family of Daniel Naert as an expression of our | ||||||
| 20 | deepest sympathy.
