SENATE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
learn of the death of Henrietta Cecelia Nell; and
WHEREAS, Henrietta Nell was born in Johnsburg to Henry M.
and Clara (nee Freund) Nell; and
WHEREAS, Henrietta Nell worked for Illinois Bell until
moving to New Jersey, where she worked for AT&T until her
retirement; and
WHEREAS, Henrietta Nell was a member of the Catholic Order
of Foresters, St. Agatha's Court 777, the Telephone Pioneers of
America, Soroptimist International-President (2 years) Essex
County and President (2 years) Morris, New Jersey; and
WHEREAS, Affectionately known as "Spark", Henrietta Nell
was an avid gardener, a talented knitter, and a creative
hobbyist; and
WHEREAS, Henrietta Nell is survived by her sister, Ethel
Nell; her sister-in-law, Elaine (the late Henry) Nell; her
nieces, Cindy (Rick Sweeney) Oeffling, Jessie (Dennis) Smith,
and Beth Staley; her great-nephews, Nick (Amy) Oeffling, Brad
(April) Oeffling, Chris Smith, Dave Smith, and Matt (Becky

Bland) Staley; and her 2 great-great-nephews, Braylen Oeffling
and Grant Oeffling; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
Henrietta Cecelia Nell, and extend our sincere condolences to
her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to the family of Henrietta Nell as an expression of
our deepest sympathy.
