SENATE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
learn of the death of Viola Augusta Zimmerman of Huntley, who
passed away on February 8, 2015; and
WHEREAS, Viola Zimmerman was born on November 9, 1918 in
Union; her parents were Ernest and Minnie (nee Giertz) Kolberg;
she married Norm Zimmerman on April 13, 1940 in Woodstock and
they lived in Huntley since 1945; and
WHEREAS, Viola Zimmerman was the co-owner and bookkeeper of
D & Z Transfer of Huntley for 60 years; and
WHEREAS, Viola Zimmerman was a member of Trinity Lutheran
Church in Huntley; and
WHEREAS, Viola Zimmerman enjoyed watching the Chicago
Cubs, Bears and Bulls, golfing, bowling, pinochle, bingo,
painting, and ceramics; and
WHEREAS, Viola Zimmerman was preceded in death by her
parents; her husband of 66 years, Norm; 2 brothers, Ervin and
Melvin Kolberg; and 5 sisters, Elma Buchte, Grace Schauer,
Florence Bauman, Mildred Diedrick, and Irene Wirsing; and

WHEREAS, Viola Zimmerman is survived by 5 children, Gerald
(Marilyn), Richard (Sheila), Sandra (Robert) Zanzig, Randy
(Lynn), and Pamela (Gary) Gallaugher; 15 grandchildren; 24
great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren; and a
sister, Ruth Kahl; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her
family and friends, mourn the passing of Viola Augusta
Zimmerman; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to the family of Viola Zimmerman as an expression of
our sympathy.
