| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
| 3 | to learn of the death of Mariellen C. Sabato, formerly of | ||||||
| 4 | Deerfield, who passed away on March 28, 2021; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Mariellen Sabato was born in Chicago on May 7, | ||||||
| 6 | 1921; she grew up in Wilmette and attended St. Scholastica | ||||||
| 7 | High School; she married Anthony Sabato in 1944 and settled in | ||||||
| 8 | Deerfield; she earned a master's degree from Northern Illinois | ||||||
| 9 | University in 1982; and
| ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, Mariellen Sabato was elected to the Lake County | ||||||
| 11 | Board in 1974 and worked to expand the Lake County Forest | ||||||
| 12 | Preserves; and
| ||||||
| 13 | WHEREAS, Mariellen Sabato was a member of the Deerfield | ||||||
| 14 | Citizens for Human Rights, through which she advocated for | ||||||
| 15 | open housing; and
| ||||||
| 16 | WHEREAS, Mariellen Sabato was preceded in death by her | ||||||
| 17 | husband; and
| ||||||
| 18 | WHEREAS, Mariellen Sabato is survived by her eight | ||||||
| 19 | children; Joanne (Thomas) Frankenfield, Francis (Melinda) | ||||||
| 20 | Sabato, David (Mitzi) Sabato, Toni (Rick) Hover, Rita (Thomas) | ||||||

| 1 | Roberts, Monica Roche, Daniel (Margaret) Sabato, and Edward | ||||||
| 2 | (Elizabeth) Sabato; her 17 grandchildren; and her six | ||||||
| 3 | great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

| 4 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL | ||||||
| 5 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
| 6 | Mariellen C. Sabato and extend our sincere condolences to her | ||||||
| 7 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | ||||||
| 8 | further

| 9 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 10 | presented to the family of Mariellen C. Sabato as an | ||||||
